Book to Mani: Harry Potter

Hey everyone!
I'm starting something new! It's my book to mani 'adaptations'! (; Reading is one of my favourite things to do, and so is nail art, so why not combine the two of them? Once in a while I'll create a nail art design based on a book or series I really like. First off is Harry Potter! I really enjoyed reading those books when I read them the first time, and I enjoy them just the same when I read them again (and again)!

Now on to the nail art: I used a black base on my thumbnail, and a nude base on the rest of my nails. At first I wanted to use ablack base on all of them but then I figured that that would not be a good idea! (;

After that, I used acrylic paints to paint the the backgrounds with the house colours and the letters on my thumb. This took me quite a while, and it started getting dark outside so I decided to continue the next day because I prefer painting in daylight.

So the next day I painted the animals and the banners with the names, again with acrylic paints. I used some gold paint to outline the letters.

I really liked this mani (I haven't even removed it yet, and it's been almost two weeks, shhh. I'm going to right after I finish this post, because it's all coming off)
